Process in Pakistan for UK Visa Application: Key Steps and Requirements
There are several steps involved in processing a UK visa from Pakistan. Please note that the visa application process may change over time, so it is important to check the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) website or visit the nearest UK Embassy or Consulate for the latest information. As of my last Knowledge update in August 2023, here is a general summary of the process:
Determine the Type of Visa You Need:
The UK offers various types of visas, including tourist visas, student visas, work visas, family reunion visas, and more. Determine which one is suitable for your purpose of travel.
Visit the official UK government website (https://www.gov.uk/apply-uk-visa) and complete the online visa application form. This process is typically done through the Visa4UK portal.
Create an Account:
You’ll need to create an account on the Visa4UK website. Be prepared to provide personal information, travel history, and details about your trip.
Pay the Visa Fee:
Pay the visa application fee, which varies depending on the type of visa you’re applying for. The fee can be paid online.
Book an Appointment:
After completing the online application and paying the fee, you’ll need to schedule an appointment at a Visa Application Centre VAC. VACs are operated by a service provider called TLScontact in Pakistan. You can book online an appointment through the VAC). website.
Attend the Visa Application Centre:
On the day of your appointment, visit the VAC with all the required documents (see the next step) and your appointment confirmation. Biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) will be taken at this stage.

In some cases, you may be asked to attend an interview at the discretion of the UK authorities.
Wait for Processing:

The processing time for UK visas can vary depending on the type of visa and the time of year. Check the UKVI website for current processing times.
Collect Your Visa:
Once your visa is approved, you will be notified, and you can collect your visa from the VAC where you applied.
Travel to the UK:
With your visa in hand, you can now travel to the UK as per your travel itinerary.
It’s crucial to carefully read and follow the instructions provided on the UK government’s official website and the TLScontact website, as requirements and procedures can change. Additionally, consider applying for your visa well in advance of your intended travel date to allow for processing time.
